Flames broke out just before 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of 6th and Pine Streets.
Heavy smoke was showing on the first floor of the 3-story apartment building when firefighters arrived.
The fire was placed under control about 20 minutes later.
It was later determined the building was unoccupied.
No word yet on a cause.
