Police arrested five adults, including three parents, and seven juveniles at Franklin High School's homecoming dance Friday.
Police say the fight started when one student tried to re-enter after leaving, which is against school policy. Police say the student shoved a police officer.
Students and parents say police beat students and used pepper spray. However, authorities say only one student suffered a bruised calf and five police officers were injured in the scuffle.
The Rev. DeForest "Buster" Soaries (SOR'-eez) says the racial makeup of the police and those apprehended raises questions.
The Somerset County prosecutor is investigating.
