Pedestrian struck, critically injured

NORWOOD, Pa. - November 25, 2009

At around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, police say a man was walking along Chester Pike near East Cleveland Avenue when he was struck by a car.

The impact resulted in the man being thrown over the car and back down onto the roadway.

When he landed, he came to rest with his coat over his head, leading those at the scene to believe he was decapitated.

He was rushed in very critical condition to Crozer Chester Medical Center for treatment.

Police continue to investigate the accident.
