Woman, children rescued from high water

WILMINGTON, Del. - December 9, 2009

Rescue teams were called to the underpass in the 1600 block of East 12th Street in Wilmington just before 8 a.m., between the Howard Young Correctional Center and I-495.

An inflatable raft was taken out to the group and they were pulled off the top of the car, which was stuck about tire-deep in water.

There are no report of serious injuries.

Rescue teams, including Delaware State Police and Wilmington fire fighters, are also responding to the 4400 block of Governor Printz Blvd. At about 8:30 a.m., there were reports of several cars and trucks stuck in high water between Paladin Drive and Edgemoor Road. Police have closed the roadway because of the high water.
