A plainclothes officer was captured on video drawing his gun during a snowball fight over the weekend.
That snowball clash was organized on Twitter and the video was posted on YouTube.
One witness tells The Washington Post it was just harmless fun until the officer arrived.
Police officials promise a full investigation.
