5 NJ kids attacked by bulldogs

WINSLOW, N.J. - December 24, 2009

The dogs were euthanized after Monday's attack. Their owners, Jean and Sherri Cruz, face a fine of up to $1,000 or 90 days in jail.

The dogs attacked 14-year-old Brandon Quann, his three siblings, ages 9 to 12, and a 10-year-old relative.

Police believe the dogs broke out of their yard and approached the younger children, who were playing outside their home. When the children ran inside, the dogs followed.

Quann was inside when the attack began and fought the dogs off with a shovel.

Winslow Police Capt. Robert Boisvert says the same dogs bit a township man on Nov. 27 as he tried to fend them away from his grandchildren.
