It happened at 12:45 a.m. Monday in the intersection of 8th and Spruce Streets in Wilmington, Delaware.
Two officers were in a police car that was driving through the intersection on a green light when they heard a car speeding toward them.
The cop who was driving tried to turn the car, but was too late. It was hit in the passenger side by a Nissan, driven by Regina Mallard, 22, of the 300 block of Red Lion Terrace in Bear, Delaware.
Police say Mallard tried to stop, but the car skidded 35 feet before hitting the cruiser in the intersection.
The officers got out of the car and went to the Nissan, and found that Mallard was not hurt, but had been drinking.
She was arrested for DUI.
Neither of the officers involved was hurt.
