The robber stole the purse of a 77-year-old woman on Wednesday, December 16at the ShopRite located at 2200 Bristol Rd in Bensalem Township. The victim was shopping inside when the theft occurred.
Video cameras captured the theft as it happened.
The suspect is described as :
- White female
- medium to large build
- long brownish colored hair
- wearing blue hospital scrubs with a white fleece coat and a gray baseball type hat
- pushing a shopping cart
Police say she is also suspected in a crime several months ago. On October 8, 2009, just before 3 p.m. another purse theft happened at the same store. The victim, a 76 year old woman, was standing in the meat aisle and the suspect took her purse from the victim's shopping cart. This incident was also captured on store surveillance. The female appears to be the same person in both videos.
