The boat capsized around 9:30 p.m. Monday on the Tuckahoe River near Route 50 in Corbin City. That is near the Cape May County border.
Officials say one man was able to swim ashore while the other man quickly went under water. Rescuers found him later, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Coast Guard and New Jersey State Police responded to the water rescue. The incident is under investigation.
