Police say it happened about 11:30 Tuesday night at the intersection of 29th and York streets.
Investigators say the suspect, 52-year-old Daisey Dobbs of the 3400 block of Frankford Avenue, plowed her SUV into a street sign, a traffic signal, then struck a natural gas line.
Traffic was detoured in the area while utility workers made repairs.
There were no evacuations and no reports of injuries.
