The retired Oregon teacher is walking across the state in his campaign for a higher speed limit.
Oregon is just one of five states with the 55-mile-per-hour speed limit on state highways and other limited-access, nonfreeway roads.

Carlin started his "Walk Across Oregon" May 3.
He tells the Albany Democrat-Herald newspaper he hopes to complete the more than 450-mile trek June 11.
