49-year-old Adrian Makuch will serve 11.5 to 23 months in jail, followed by 7 years probation.
He was arrested in last December.
Makuch pled guilty to approaching a 15-year-old boy last summer and asking him if he could take nude photographs of him.
He had served 21 years with the Police Department.
