Firefighters responded to calls about smoke and found two homes on fire in the 1500 block of Taylor Street in Philadelphia's Grays Ferry neighborhood.
More crews were called to the scene to battle the flames around 2:30 Sunday morning.
The elderly woman was taken to The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
