Philadelphia police spotted a stolen silver Jaguar near Germantown and Sedgley avenues in Hunting Park at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday; they then tried to stop the car.
The driver took off and led police up Germantown Avenue into Montgomery County.
Police in Horsham helped stop the car at Bethlehem Pike and Welsh Road.
Police say the driver tossed a weapon from the car.
He is being held for questioning.
