The shooting happened around 3:00 p.m. Monday in the 2600 block of South 7th Street.
For an unknown reason, the gunman shot the 16-year-old girl in the buttocks.
Then the man barricaded himself inside a home. Police later took him into custody.
The wounded girl was taken to Children's Hospital in stable condition.
The circumstances of this shooting remain under investigation.
