Police Cpl. Tscharna Senn tells The Gainesville Sun that five people were shot Monday afternoon within city limits, while the other two were shot in Alachua County.
Police say a suspect was pulled over shortly after the shootings and he shot himself. His condition was not immediately known.
Police say they don't have a motive.
Officers who answered the phone at the Gainesville Police Department tell The Associated Press no one was immediately available to speak about the shootings.
