Police in a Delco borough quit, shut down force

COLWYN, PENNSYLVANIA - October 8, 2010

Several officers who worked for the Colwyn Borough walked off the job on Thursday night.

Delaware County emergency management spokesman, Ed Truitt, says the officers have quit over a rift with Borough Council.

Truitt did not explain the nature of the disagreement.

The move left Colwyn with virtually no one to patrol the streets.

For now, police from Darby Borough are taking care of emergencies.
