Woman shot, killed while riding bike in Chester

CHESTER, Pa. - October 12, 2010

The shooting happened at the intersection of 8th and Sproul Streets around 2:00 Tuesday morning.

Upon their arrival, police discovered a 20-year-old female lying partially on the curb and partially on the street. This person was still astride a bicycle, which she had apparently been riding.

The victim was shot seven times in the torso. She was transported to Crozer-Chester Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The victim's name has not been released.

Police believe this is connected to an earlier home invasion when three males broke inside of a home at 63 W. 8th Street around 1:00 a.m.

One of the men pointed a gun at a woman inside of the home and said, "Where is your man".

They took $100 and two cell phones, then fled.
