A central New Jersey man who admitted sexually assaulting eight young girls has been sentenced to 25 years in a state prison for sex offenders.

Nineteen-year-old Cirilo Cholula Maranchel of Lakewood was a juvenile when the assaults occurred during a six-month period in 2009. But as part of his plea bargain with Ocean County prosecutors, he agreed to be prosecuted as an adult.

Maranchel pleaded guilty last July to six counts of aggravated sexual assault and two counts of sex assault. He must serve 85 percent of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole.

Prosecutors say Maranchel knew his all victims, who ranged in age from 4 to 9. He will serve his term at the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Avenel.
