Electrical problem blamed in NE Phila. fire

A fast-moving fire at a home in Northeast Philadelphia overnight was caused by an electrical problem, investigators said.

Fire crews were called at approximately 4:35 a.m. Tuesday to the 2200 block of Brighton Street. Upon their arrival, heavy fire was showing on the second floor of the house.

The fire was quickly placed under control.

A number of people were displaced by the fire.

By Tuesday afternoon, investigators determined an electrial problem sparked the blaze.
