Investigators say the victim, Jeanne Hank, was strangled.
The officer in charge testified today to statements both men made, each blaming each other.
"He said that she'd called him in the morning and asked him to bring the truck back," Brand Blanc Det. Steven Hatfield testified.
Hatfield said Tuesday that he interviewed Lorenzo Relerford first, the day Jeanne Hank was killed. Hatfield says both Relerford and Dantoine Brown said they were at her home March 10, but Relerford eventually told police he witnessed Brown wanted to rob her and he witnessed him choking Hank twice.
Hatfield said they used a chokehold position, and at one time, had a gun to her head.
Hatfield said when he interviewed Brown, he said he waited outside Hank's home and Relerford went in. "At some point, Mr. Relerford opened the door and motioned for Mr. Brown to come in. When Brown went in, he said he observed Ms. Hank laying on the floor," Hatfield said.
She was unconscious and gagging, according to testimony.
This pawn shop employee says two men came into his Flint store twice, trying to sell him a laptop, DVD player and TV.
"There was a password on the laptop, and they did not know the password, so I couldn't take the item," the pawn shop owner said.
About two hours later, the two men were stopped in Hank's SUV.
"I was traveling northbound on North Saginaw Street, and I saw the vehicle pass southbound in the opposite direction," Sheriff's Captain Chris Swanson said.
Brown and Relerford each face one count of felony murder and armed robbery. Their hearing is scheduled to continue next week, when the medical examiner is expected to testify.
