The incident was reported around 3:30 a.m. in the 200 block of North 52nd Street, near Arch Street.
The victim told police she was grabbed, forced into an alley and sexually assaulted.
The suspect is said to have fled on foot southbound from that location onto 52nd towards Market Streets.
There was no immediate word on a description of the suspect.
