A man from Delaware County was killed in an early morning crash on Interstate 95 in Wilmington, Delaware.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:50 a.m. Thursday along northbound I-95, approaching Marsh Road.

According to investigators the victim, 35-year-old Vincent Amoroso of Springfield, Pa., made a left hand lane change and for an unknown reason, traveled off of the edge of the roadway and struck a guardrail.

Police say he then overcorrected his vehicle, crossing all lanes of northbound traffic and drove into the grass median.

The 2002 Honda then overturned several times, ejecting Amoroso, whose body came to rest in the southbound lanes of I-95.

Medics performed CPR on the victim at the scene and rushed him to Christiana Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

I-95 at Marsh Road was closed while police investigated the crash.

Police say Amoroso was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
