It happened about 2:00 a.m., near the corner of 21st and Mifflin streets.
Police say witnesses heard several shots fired then saw four men run from the car.
Investigators say the 25-year-old victim was shot in the chest, abdomen and face.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:15 a.m.
Homicide detectives so far, have not indicated that they have uncovered any motives, or narrowed down a list of suspects.
