Daughter forced to watch parents' shooting speaks

WEST PHILADELPHIA - September 7, 2011

The 19-year-old daughter is alive, spared by the cold killers who gunned down her father, 50-year-old Porfirio Nunez, her mother, 44-year-old Johana Duran, and her father's sister, 48-year-old Lina Sanchez.

"I was supposed to be the last one and I asked them not to...they put the gun in my face and I asked them not to, and they didn't," the 19-year-old said.

It happened around 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.

The family was closing up Lorena's Grocery on the 800 block of North 50th Street when the 19-year-old says she received a strange call asking if the store had surveillance cameras or needed them.

She gave the phone to her dad.

"He said no, he was ok, that's when the guys came in and I turned around, they were there with the guns," the daughter said.

It was Porfirio's 50th birthday.

His daughter says they shot and killed him before he had a chance to reach for the gun he keeps in the store.

She says they then walked to the rear of the store and shot her mother and aunt.

They forced her to watch.

"The guy let me see everything, like he was turning my head, making me turn around and see everything. It was just mean," the daughter said.

Video captured by a nearby business shows the two suspects entering the store; they appear to shielding their faces.

After taking some cash, the two suspects fled, leaving the 19-year-old and her younger sister alive.

Lina Sanchez' son was in his apartment above the store when he heard the shots.

He ran downstairs.

"I seen my mom. I was able to wipe her face, she had a lot of blood and I touched her belly. I said, 'Can you hear me?' She shook her head like yes, once. She was still breathing, but that was it," Javish Sanchez said.

Dozens gathered outside the store Wednesday evening with a memorial growing by the minute.

The triple murder has left residents outraged.

They along with the family believe someone knows the shooters.

"Open your mouth. Have some sorrow. They got my mom, my family. Think about if it happened to your family," Javish said.

The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 25 years-of-age, 5'4"-5'6", thick build, mustache wearing a black hat, and a black shirt.

The second suspect is described as a black male, approximately 25 years-of-age, 6', thin build, wearing a black hat, and a long sleeve white shirt/thermal shirt with a black t-shirt on top

The Citizens Crime Commission has announced a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of these wanted killers.

"Please, if you know anything related to the crime, any way, any little information, as small as you think, please call the police," family friend Maribel Martinez said.
