Phillies fans hope for a big win
PHILADELPHIA - September 17, 2011
Phillies fans know it's the inevitable but they didn't want to miss the party just in case their team clinched another National League East title before Saturday's game.
"I'm very excited. It's going to be an awesome game, tailgating is awesome. It's my first time tailgating and I love it. Its mayhem and craziness," said Misty Burkhart.
The Phillies could have clinched the title earlier Saturday if the New York Mets won against the Atlanta Braves, but many fans just want to see them do it by winning tonight.
"We definitely want to see it tonight, that's why we're all here to see the Phillies win," said Kate Feryo.
Hours before the sea of red got ready to walk into Citizen's Bank Park, across the street Temple played Penn State.
Fans crowded around Lincoln Financial Field, threw hot dogs on the grill and started some early trash talking.
"I'll say this. I think history tells the truth here. Penn State has been winning it how many times, Penn State all the way baby," said a loyal Penn State fan.
Some fans were disappointed, as Temple loss to Penn State.
The Phillies on the other hand, are hoping for a better fate.
