On October 26 of last year, 26 year old Veronica Santiago was crossing the intersection of 5th and York Streets in North Philadelphia around 8:30pm. She was struck down by a hit and run driver.
Santo Montecalvo of the Citizens Crime Commission said, "Female was struck by a white, Ford F 150 and pronounced dead."
The driver of the pickup with tinted windows, fled the scene. A year later, and there have been no new leads. The family is hoping a 5-thousand dollar reward will jumpstart this case.
"I want people to know that I am really mad as hell, and I really need someone to, whoever you are, that knows something to just come and bring this person or make a phone call," said Fonseca.
Veronica Santiago left behind two young children.
Family members are devastated, but remain on a mission to find justice for Veronica.
Fonseca said, "She is still alive in our hearts, fresh in our minds, and we are definitely not going to rest."
