On Nov. 13, the victim, a 52-year-old cab driver in Wilmington arrived to pick up a passenger on the 100 block of East Front Street.
The passenger 27-year-old Kaya Nelson got into the vehicle and a short time later brandished a knife, and demanded money from the driver.
During the altercation the victim suffered minor cuts to the neck as well as cuts to his hand, before he was able to get away.
Police say Nelson stole the cab and also fled. He later crashed the vehicle blocks away from the scene.
The cab driver was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where he was treated and released.
