The incident happened around 8:43 p.m. at North Broad Street near Norris Street.
Two Narcotics Strike Force officers called for back up to deal with a suspicious SUV.
Police say the suspects were inside a black Chevy Tahoe.
One of the suspects behind the wheel of the SUV allegedly tried to run over a uniform officer who had drawn his gun.
The suspects allegedly bolted from the Tahoe and ran south on Broad Street.
A narcotics officer ran on foot in pursuit of the suspects. That is when the driver of a patrol car, also in pursuit of the suspects, struck the officer.
Police comforted the injured officer until medics arrived.
The officer was transported to Temple University Hospital with a broken finger. He is expected to be treated and released.
Both males being sought were apprehended.
