The drivers found 28-year-old Ronnell Sims on the back of their truck in the Riverview Place apartment complex in Claymont around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
When they told him to get off, Sims grabbed a light from the top of the truck and ran. It was still attached to the truck, and fell out of Sims' pocket.
Sims returned and police say he grabbed one driver by the neck, demanding the truck keys. The drivers held Sims until officers arrived, and he was arrested after police say he gave a false name and struggled with officers.
Sims is charged with attempted carjacking, attempting theft, resisting arrest, offensive touching and criminal impersonation.
