Del. suspends drug licenses for 2 doctors, nurse

NEWARK, Del. (AP) - December 11, 2011

State officials disciplined doctors Patrick A. Titus and Muhammed A. Niaz, who runs the Tri-State Health pain management clinics in Newark and Elkton, Md. They also disciplined nurse practitioner Jean Binkley who works for Niaz and an urgent-care center in Stanton.

The News Journal reports their licenses to prescribe drugs were suspended under an order signed by Secretary of State Jeffrey Bullock. The three are accused of prescribing drugs at unsafe doses and ignoring evidence that patients were abusing drugs. The three have declined to comment.

Disciplinary actions against doctors in Delaware have increased dramatically in the last two years.
