Crime Fighters: Search continues for Main Line bank bandit

December 17, 2011

Police want you to take a good look at the surveillance video. It was shortly before 1:00 in the afternoon on Tuesday august 9th. The suspect held up the Wells Fargo Bank in the 400 block of West Lancaster Avenue in Haverford armed with a nickel plated semi-automatic handgun.

Authorities believe he may be from that area. Witnesses say he fled the bank through the alleyways and through nearby neighborhoods and quickly disappeared.

Authorities aren't saying exactly how much, but they do say he got away with a very large amount of money. That's why Wells Fargo Bank is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

The suspect is described as African American, standing 6'3" to 6'5", in his mid 20s. He has an athletic build. He wore white-trimmed, black goggles and a black hoodie and grey sweatpants. If you see him, don't approach him. Make that anonymous call to the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS.
