Man in critical condition after Germantown blaze

GERMANTOWN - December 18, 2011

It happened around 2:25 a.m. Sunday on the 5500 block of Baynton Street.

Officials arrived to find thick black smoke pouring from the second floor of the residence.

Firefighters quickly went to work battling the flames which caused heavy damage to the home.

A man in his 50s was rescued from the blaze, suffering burns and respiratory arrest.

He was taken to Albert Einstein Hospital in critical condition.

Authorities are unsure what sparked the blaze.
