Judge Patrick Dugan dismissed charges against a fourth defendant. The judge says Eddie Wright will not be tried, citing testimony that Wright was sometimes held captive as well.
Dugan's decision Tuesday means that 51-year-old Linda Weston will be tried on charges that she ran a brutal scheme to exploit the mentally infirm for money and government benefits.
Her daughter Jean McIntosh and boyfriend Gregory Thomas will also face trial.
The four suspects were arrested Oct. 15, the day a landlord said he stumbled upon four adults living in a squalid basement room. One was chained to the boiler.
