Police search for gunmen who killed father of 3

PHILADELPHIA - December 20, 2011

The shooting happened Oct. 1 outside the Survivor Bar on the 5000 block of North 5th Street.

Investigators say two males wearing hoodies were walking by as the victim 43-year-old Barnabe Montes and 2 of his friend stood outside the bar talking.

"You see the second male slightly behind him. The shooters walking up to them with hoodies up, and you see them turn and pull a gun out," said Captain James Clarke of the Philadelphia Police Department.

Police say the gunmen announced a robbery and demanded money and jewelry.

"He pushes him inside of a doorway, there was struggle and then they take off," said Captain Clarke.

Montes, a father of three was shot and killed. His two friends were also shot, but survived their injuries.

The gunmen fled getting away with absolutely nothing.

Police say the men were driving the car seen in the surveillance video. It is believed to be a light colored 1995 four-door Honda Accord with a sunroof.

As of now, authorities have no solid leads in the case.

They are asking the public to look at the surveillance video and to come forward with information.
