The crash happened around 2:10 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection Ridge Pike and S Grange Avenue in Lower Providence.
The driver of a contractor truck lost control and took down a utility pole and spilled sheet rock and nails over the road. Police say the driver then fled on foot.
PECO responded to the scene to repair the pole and highway crews worked to clean up the debris.
Police say the fiberglass truck cap came off when it struck the pole spilling the debris.
