Crews were dispatched around 12:38 Tuesday afternoon to the 1400 block of Red Lion Road.
They found that the tree brought down four utility poles with its fall.
According to a Delmarva spokesperson, the initial power outage affected nearly 1,200 customers, a number that has since lowered to about 17.
Most of those affected live in the Estates of Red Lion.
Delmarva officials are unsure of when the estimated time of restoration will be.
Red Lion Road is also closed between Route 72 at Wrangle Hill Road and Delilah Drive
