Cruise company: Captain made 'errors in judgment'

GIGLIO, Italy (AP) - January 15, 2012

Italian media carried a statement from Genoa, Italy-based Costa Crociere. Company spokesmen could not immediately be reached for comment, but a Costa employee confirmed that the statement had been issued.

The statement said Costa expressed "its deepest sorry for this terrible accident." The Costa Concordia ran into reef near the Tuscan island of Giglio Friday night. At least six people were killed and about 16 people of the 4,200 aboard remain unaccounted for.
