It happened around 3:30pm at the intersection of 49th Street and Woodland Avenue.
Witnesses tell police the man appeared to be intoxicated and stumbled from the sidewalk onto the street.
The bus was heading westbound when it contacted the man.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The route 12 bus runs from 3rd and Pine to 50th and Woodland.
