19-year-old Barry Alli of Stratford was found dead in an alleyway near Louis and Jackson streets about 10:11 p.m. Thursday.
Witnesses reported hearing dozens of gunshots in the area, but it appears Alli was the only person struck.
While canvassing the area investigators noted two homes and three vehicles were struck in the hail of bullets.
Police don't know who killed Alli or why.
