Flint, who watched the Dragons win 19 straight games at one point during his 11th season, compiled a 29-7 mark this year. Drexel went 2-1 in the NIT, defeating Central Florida and Northern Iowa before falling to UMass with a berth in the semifinals on the line.
The Dragons have made postseason play five times under Flint, and he was named coach of the year in the Colonial Athletic Association earlier this month.
Flint, 46, was formerly the coach at UMass, where he replaced John Calipari in 1996, after the latter left for the NBA's New Jersey Nets.
