Daytime shooting in Mantua leaves 1 dead

A man has died after being shot in the head on Wednesday morning in the Mantua section of Philadelphia.

Police were called to the intersection of 39th Street and Haverford Avenue at 9:12 a.m. for a report of a shooting.

There, they found a 36-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the back of the head. He was pronounced dead at 9:51 a.m.

Investigators say a black male with a green hat and a dark hooded sweatshirt was spotted running from the scene.

There was no immediate word on the identity of the victim or a motive in this shooting.
