3 injured in fiery crash on I-95 in Chester

CHESTER, Pa. - August 1, 2012

The crash was reported around 10:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-95 near Kerlin Street by the Commodore Barry Bridge.

Police arrived to find two vehicles engulfed in flames.

In all, police said, five vehicles were involved in the crash.

The view from Chopper 6 HD showed the car and box truck that were apparently involved.

Three people were injured, police said, but the extent of their injuries was not known.

Police say the crash happened when one of the vehicles failed to stop, slammed into another vehicle, then flipped over and exploded.

The northbound lanes were closed about a half-hour after the wreck, and the southbound lanes were closed for about an hour.
