The incident happened around 5:00 a.m. when the victim was struck by a northbound train near the Lombard Station.
It is unclear at this time if the victim fell or jumped onto the tracks.
Service was suspended for several hours between the Walnut-Locust and Snyder Stations while police ans SEPTA officials conducted their investigation.
The victim's age and identity have not been released.
