The accident occurred shortly before 9:30 Friday night on Ridge Road at the intersection with Virginia Avenue.
Police say 53-year-old David Jones of Marcus Hook, Pa., was trying to cross Ridge Road when he walked into the path of a car.
The accident remains under investigation. No charges were immediately filed. Jones was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
