50% off designer jewelry

SPRING GARDEN - Nov. 8, 2012

At noon Friday, jeweler Steven Lagos will open the doors of his Spring Garden headquarters and begin to sell hundreds of his signature pieces for 50% off the regular retail prices.

Lagos Public Relations spokeswoman Lindsay Sargent explains, "I think it's really, really exciting for customers to gather up gifts for the holiday season or pieces that they've been wanting all year long."

A savvy shopper might find a few pieces that are part of the current line being sold in stores, but most of the selections are from years past.

Sargent says, "There's many stone, colored, pieecs that they can buy that they really cannot find anywhere else, in the store on Walnut Street or in other department stores. So I think that's really a pulling point."

A topaz ring that was $1475 will sell for $737.50. A bracelet, featuring Lagos's signature caviar beading, was $550, but will sell for $275. And a $3000 amethyst bracelet will be $1500.

Also on sale, diamond-accented pieces created specifically for the jeweler's 35th anniversary this Fall and selections from the Couture Collection that retail for $3000 to $10,000.

A portion of the sale proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The sale runs from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 and 16, 2012. And from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 and 17, 2012. The sale location is 441 North Fifth Street in Philadelphia.
