It happened around 2:30 Sunday morning on the 1600 block of South 16th Street.
The fire came from the second floor of the house.
The victim suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in stable condition.
So far no word what sparked the blaze.
