Study finds possible link between pregnancy, the flu, & autism

Danish researchers report that children whose mothers had the flu, or ran a fever lasting more than a week during pregnancy, had an increased risk of their babies developing a form of autism.

However, U.S. health officials are stressing that the new study, published in today's issue of Pediatrics, is exploratory and does not offer a specific cause for the disability.
