A bride and her groom, who got married earlier in the night, were injured when their vehicle slammed into a tree off Roosevelt Boulevard.

It happened overnight in the inner lanes of the Boulevard, near Blue Grass Road in Bustleton.

Authorities say the bride was behind the wheel and lost control and ran off the roadway, striking a tree.

The impact of the crash trapped a groom inside. Firefighters took almost 30 minutes to free him.

Both the victims were taken to Aria Hospital-Torresdale for treatment.

The woman was listed in stable condition and the male was listed in serious condition with leg fractures.

No word on the cause of the crash.
