DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) -November 30, 2012

Jonathan Simmons apologized to the family of John Rearick, who died a week after being hit July 21 in Middletown, Bucks County.

Simmons told the court he panicked and fled the scene after hitting Rearick.

Police released surveillance footage from a nearby store showing a car hit Rearick then pause before driving off. The Bucks County Courier Times (http://bit.ly/X82g8T ) reports Simmons faces a minimum of a year in prison at a sentencing early next year.

Simmons' license was suspended at the time of the crash because of previous traffic violations.
